Since qualifying in 1976 Christopher has specialised in family law and was one of the original members of the Solicitors Family Law Association, now called Resolution. He strives to represent his clients in a constructive manner and is an obstinate opponent where necessary.
He’s been involved in contested divorces, and acted on behalf of clients in disputes about where children should live, time spent with non residential parents as well as numerous issues relating to financial provisions. Latterly he has been involved in sorting out the legal issues of the infirm and elderly by preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney or obtaining the appointment of Deputies.
He feels people underestimate the difficulties they make for others by not giving sufficient consideration to this aspect of their affairs, particularly those who are single or those with little family. This is an area of law he believes will become increasingly significant to an ageing population.
Based at the London office Christopher lives in Winchester where he has a growing number of local clients requiring a locally accessible solicitor with ‘London expertise’ for both family and private client matters.
Married to an artist whose work can be seen lining the walls of Horsey Lightly’s London office, Christopher’s interests outside work are family, friends and a spot of fly fishing when time permits.
