Admitted as a solicitor in 1980, John joined Horsey Lightly in 1996 and was made partner in 2000. Prior to joining the firm, John practiced in a wide range of legal areas often with an emphasis on legal disputes, before settling exclusively in the field of litigation.
John heads up Horsey Lightly’s litigation and dispute resolution teams specialising in legal disputes relating to property, landlord and tenant, commercial contracts and probate/inheritance. He has played a leading role in a number of influential reported cases.
John’s philosophy is to work closely with his clients in trying to find practical and cost effective solutions to their legal conflicts, and acts tenaciously in pursuit of their interests. A member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), John is also the firm’s anti-money laundering compliance officer.
Married with four dependent children, when time permits, John enjoys sailing, the gym and wistfully flicking through back copies of Yachting Monthly.
