John Trehearne

Partner - Commercial Property

John read Law at Exeter University before attending the College of Law, Guildford and serving his Articles in London, qualifying as a Solicitor in 1991.

He then spent a couple of years travelling through Africa, Australasia and South-East Asia before returning to practice in 1993.

He joined the firm in 1995 to specialise principally in commercial property matters but has experience in all aspects of commercial and residential property including the sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold properties, property portfolio management, acting for landlord or tenant in the grant of commercial leases, the sale and purchase of small businesses, general conveyancing, re-mortgaging and transfers of equity.

Acting on instructions from a client who had spotted a new-build long leasehold commercial investment opportunity in West London, we began investigating the title to an office unit in a mixed commercial and residential development. Our client was assured by the vendor that it would be a simple purchase as it was the penultimate unit to be sold in a large scheme, the bulk of which had been completed and sold over the preceding three years.
