Lynda Lawson advised Goedhuis & Co. Limited on the recent acquisition of David Roberts Domaines into its specialist fine wine business, increasing the overall purchasing power of Goedhuis with the finest French estates, giving an attractive proposition for its customers.
Whilst the transaction was in essence an acquisition of shares, part of the deal was that David Roberts would take up shares in Goedhuis as well as join its board of directors. Lynda worked closely with her employment colleague, Barry Jameson, on the employment aspects of the transaction both from the point of view of taking over a limited company and appointing up a new director in the Goedhuis organisation. As is ever the case, the transaction took some unexpected turns, all of which were resolved to the mutual satisfaction of both sides and the relationship is working well.
Lynda helped us greatly in our first acquisition deal. At a time when we had plenty of other business decisions to contend with Lynda kept the deal ticking along. As ever with a transaction of this type the 'goal posts' moved on a number of occasions and Lynda was flexible in her approach and quick to suggest alternative solutions. 15 months down the line things are going well and the business continues to benefit from the acquisition
